Asbestos Spill Clean-Up

Police contacted AR Plus to respond to an asbestos spill on the Kaimai Ranges, following unsafe and illegal removal practices. A trailer load of asbestos-contaminated waste had been improperly secured, resulting in debris being scattered across the road — posing a serious health and safety risk to the public.

Working alongside Fire and Emergency NZ and Downer, our licensed team arrived promptly to manage the situation. We carried out a controlled Class A clean-up, removing all contaminated materials and securing them for transport to an approved disposal facility. Thanks to strong coordination on-site, we completed the clean-up with minimal disruption to passing traffic.

This incident clearly reminds us of the risks posed by unlicensed asbestos work. Improper handling can affect not just your property but entire communities.
